Airplanes are the best even in the snow.

Ethan thought the steam from the dryer vent was way cool.

Trick or treat

We tried and tried to get a good pic of Ty in his costume but it was not to be. He looked great in his Max costume. He even had a little stuffed "wild thing" to carry along with him thanks to his uncle Todd. Ethan was the cutest turtle we have ever seen. We did a quick round of our block and we were ready for baths and bedtime. Teething turtles can only go so far you know.

Sand Castles

Ty was determined to stay in the very wet sand close to the water. It was too wet to do the traditional castles with the bucket turned upside down so we made dribble castles over and over as tropical storm Ty took them down just as we built them. He had a great time and loved both the building and the destruction. Ethan even had a chance to get sand on his tiny toes for the very first time.

These pictures are over two days of sand castle building. I think this will have been our last real beach day as the weather is supposed to turn and we leave day after tomorrow. :-(

San Diego Zoo

Ty's new favorite animal is the Giraffe. He was so excited to see them he kept bringing us back to their enclosure...again and again. They allow you to feed them at certain times of the day on the weeknds and we were at the right place at the right time. It was very special. They got so close the they are so sweet and gentle. Perfect for a two year old!

foggy cooler day at the beach

The fog and the clouds didn't keep us away, put on a couple extra layers and we were good to go! I guess more of an autumn kind of day. A good day!

Disneyland

The boys loved Disneyland. Ethan loved the new colors and sounds and smells and being carried all around in the snuggly. Ty was a huge fan of the Dumbo ride. So we did that one a few times. We really enjoyed our hotel being so close to the parks and the Downtown Disney area too.

Low tide

As we spend this extra time at the beach these next few weeks I find myself able to see new things. We are usually only here for only a few days or a week at the most. When that happens we have so many things to do we cannot or do not take the time to see the smaller things. This time we are able to be down at the water so much more.

Today we went down at the lowest of low tides. The water had this whole other feeling to it. It was odd to stand in a few inches of water where I would usually be way over my head. The very shallow water seemed to go on and on and this was the perfect time to take Ty down to explore. Now I know he is more beautiful to me then to the rest of the world but...

I stood back and watched him run as the day's light faded and the sun danced across the water. He was moving his little legs so quickly and with such purpose that he looked like those funny sea birds with the long legs that run so quickly with the receding water to find food. He was a blur of energy and happiness.

...how could you not smile at this?

Madison Trip

We enjoyed our recent trip to visit family in Wisconsin.

We found that Ty loves tire swings......

and Grandma Sandi and Grandpa Jim's pool...

and dipping his toes in the water.

Ethan relaxed while his cousin Julia feasted. Mommy just enjoyed the company.

Little Brother

Sorry, I posted the pics with nothing said about them in error. Too fast on the keyboard I guess.

Ethan is doing very well. He is getting big and strong and as you can see, smiling and giggling. His reflux is still a battle and we have started a new medication. When his tummy is not bothering him he is a good sleeper and is eating more and more everyday. He loves sitting outside in the shade and watching his big brother play. We have a small birds nest on our back porch and he loves when the baby birds chirp for food. He turns his head to the chatter and smiles. He is a cutie!

Summertime

Sorry it has been a while again. Time has been flying by since Ethan was born. Here are some pics to catch you up on Ty. I will do a second post for Ethan. Ty still loves the water and we have also been enjoying our community pool. He has also been supervising the construction of he final home on our block. The big dump trucks are the very best.

Bucca Di Beppio has the yummiest spaghetti says Ty as he reviews the menu.

Since we bought Ty this water table (that apparently doubles as a pool) he is fascinated by the garden hose. He is quite the goof ball!

Wednesday, June 4, 2008

Sorry it has been a while. Ethan has been keeping us very busy. We are learning how to manage both boys and keep things balanced and stable. We are hoping to get more sleep soon. Ethan has had some acid reflux but it is getting better on his new medication.

This first pic is Ethan at 3 hours old, the second is his first day at home and the last one is his reaction to a party in mommy's lap. woohooo!

We are not sure if the blond hair will stay but we think it is cool. Granted nobody will believe he is my child. Oh no!

Easter Egg Hunt at the New Home

Ty had quite a good time finding eggs. Granted he thought they were balls and threw them around the yard. Once one opened up and he saw the treats he got the whole picture. Sorry no pics of mommy and her big belly. It looks like she ate way too much Easter candy! One more month of that and we will have new baby pictures to show off.
